The worst thing isn't falling, but not coming back

Mark as read

We all fall. What makes the difference is what you do afterward.

After failing at something serious, there are two paths. One is to stay alone with the guilt, keep turning it over and convince yourself you're beyond repair. The other is to let yourself be looked at and start again. Peter and Judas both failed Jesus on the same night. The difference wasn't in the size of the betrayal, but in what they did afterward: one sank into his guilt; the other wept and came back. We all fall. What matters is not turning the fall into the end, and going back as soon as possible to the one who can lift you up: asking forgiveness, going to confession, starting again without waiting to feel worthy.

Key idea

Falling happens to everyone; what's decisive is going back to the one who can lift you up.

Your challenge for this idea

If you fail at something today, don't stay going over it alone: say sorry and start again right away.
