The clothes you don't wear
"Clothing the naked" starts with opening your wardrobe.
Almost all of us have clothes in the wardrobe we haven't worn for years: because we don't like them anymore, because they don't fit well or because we bought something similar. Meanwhile, there are people nearby who are cold or who can't buy something decent for a job interview.
Clothing the naked is one of the easiest works of mercy to put into practice. It's not about giving what is torn or dirty, but what is in good condition and can be useful to someone else, through the parish, a charity or someone who needs it.
And, along the way, it helps you live with more detachment: to realize how much we pile up without needing it and to shop more sensibly.
Key idea
Giving away what you have spare and in good condition is a simple way to live mercy.
Your challenge for this idea
Today, set aside a piece of clothing in good condition that you don't wear and take it this week to someone who can use it.
