Speaking forcefully does not increase knowledge

On complex topics, a blunt sentence produces a sense of clarity. It avoids nuances, doubts, and the effort of verifying sources. It can also project an image of security that proves hard to abandon later. Maturity distinguishes conviction from arrogance. You can hold firm principles while recognizing what data you do not know, where reasonable interpretations exist, or what part depends on someone else's experience. Saying "I am not sure" does not always weaken the message. Sometimes it builds trust because it proves you do not need to pretend. Words gain precision when their force corresponds to actual knowledge. And dialogue opens up when the other person does not have to knock down a wall before contributing a fact.
