Someone may be searching without looking like it
An orderly life and an important job do not eliminate the questions of the heart.
The Ethiopian traveled in an imposing carriage, had an education, and held a high position. From the outside, he did not look like someone in need of guidance. Yet he was reading Scripture he could not understand, and was grateful that Philip approached.
Appearances deceive in both directions. You can assume someone has no interest in God because they never talk about the topic, or that they have everything figured out because they seem confident and successful. You don't need to invade their privacy. It is enough to cultivate a friendship where important questions have permission to surface. Sometimes a person does not need you to guess their search, but only to sense that with you they could talk without being judged.
Key idea
It is not always noticeable from the outside who is seeking meaning or needs a conversation about faith.
Your challenge for this idea
Open a deeper conversation today with someone you usually assume has no interest in talking about faith.
