Solidarity starts close by

Solidarity is not just an emotion regarding distant problems. It is a stable decision to seek the common good, starting with the real people close to you. Sometimes it is easier to voice opinions on great causes than to help out at home, work with loyalty, or treat someone who depends on you with justice. Christian love comes down to the real world. So that this does not remain in theory, it helps to bring it down to a concrete decision: a pending conversation, a small personal sacrifice, a priority to reorder, or a more Christian way of looking at what is happening.
