Scarcity does not decide how much you can give

The account speaks of a multiplication, but it also reflects a constant of his life: not allowing scarcity to have the final word in the face of a need.
When resources are few, you can become paralysed because you will not reach everyone. That limitation is real and calls for organization, but it does not make useless what you can indeed offer.
Eight is still more than zero. Generosity begins by putting what is available at the service of the good, without promising the impossible. Afterwards comes asking for help, distributing fairly, and trusting that others can also join in.
