Row out into the deep

The comfortable shore is not always the place where you grow the most.

Staying on the shore is understandable. There you control more, risk less, and almost nobody asks too much of you. But you can also remain small. Rowing out into the deep means daring to pursue a good that feels a bit scary: serving more, speaking with truth, committing, forgiving, discerning a calling, or starting something that helps others. God does not push you into a void. He invites you to trust. And often the most fruitful life begins a little further from comfort.
