Resting is not giving up

Mark as read

Sometimes going on well begins by stopping well.

Fortitude does not consist in living exhausted. Humility is also needed to acknowledge that your body, mind, and heart need rest. Resting well is not abandoning yourself to disorder. It means recovering strength to love, work, and pray better. Laziness escapes duty; healthy rest prepares you to return to it. It is not about denying what you feel or living behind a mask. It is about giving emotion its place: listening to it, naming it, looking at it truthfully, and then deciding with greater freedom. Feeling something strongly does not mean it must take charge.

Key idea

Orderly rest sustains fidelity in what truly matters.

Your challenge for this idea

Plan a concrete period of rest today that is not pure escape or endless scrolling.
