Renewing your mind changes the way you see

Saint Paul asked the Christians of Rome: "Be transformed by the renewal of your mind." Because you can change some behaviors and still value things just as before: seeing service as a loss, forgiveness as weakness or success as proof of being more than others. That way, the good is always an uphill struggle. The Gospel, prayer and the example of good people teach us to see differently: greatness as self-giving, freedom as the capacity to love, authority as service. What happens outside is the same; what you see in it changes. That doesn't happen with one stray sentence. You need to come back to those truths, test them against life and act from them, until that new way of seeing starts to be your own.
