Reading has made many saints
Ten minutes with a good book nourish you more than an hour of scrolling.
St. Josemaría advised dedicating a few minutes each day to spiritual reading: the New Testament and a book that draws you closer to God. He summed it up with a promise: "reading has made many saints." It is not studying or entertainment: it is nourishment.
He explained it with a helpful image: in reading, "the fuel tank" is filled. It looks like an inert pile, but from there memory unexpectedly draws what kindles your prayer and supports your decisions. What you read every day ends up shaping how you think.
Because something is going to fill that tank anyway. If you do not choose it, your feed will. The question is not whether you have ten minutes—you do, just check your screen time—but to whom you give them.
Key idea
What you read each day ends up deciding how you think: choose it yourself.
