Paying attention in class saves hours

Mark as read

What you don't listen to today you'll have to learn alone tomorrow.

It's tempting to switch off in class: look at your phone, think about something else, count on studying it at home. But later, in front of your notes, it takes three times as long to understand what someone explained to you in ten minutes. Making good use of classes is probably the simplest and most forgotten study technique. Listening carefully, asking about what you don't understand, taking notes in your own words: all that saves hours afterward. It's also a form of respect for whoever is teaching and of responsibility for what's in your hands. Studying well starts long before you sit down to study.

Key idea

Making good use of a class is the easiest way to study less and better.

Your challenge for this idea
