Patience also preserves friendships

Mark as read

Not every distance demands a goodbye; some relationships simply need time in order to breathe again.

There are seasons when a friend responds less, closes up, or makes decisions you do not understand. The pain can push you to demand an immediate explanation or interpret the silence as proof that you never mattered to them. Patience does not call any treatment good, nor does it force you to endure abuse. It allows you to distinguish a necessary boundary from an impatient reaction. Sometimes it consists of expressing that something hurt and then leaving a door open, without pursuing or punishing with another silence. People go through processes you do not control. Remaining available, praying, and waiting for a better opportunity can be a demanding form of friendship. It does not guarantee that everything will be the same again, but it prevents destroying today what might still mature tomorrow.

Key idea

Patient friendship respects personal processes without renouncing the truth or hastily closing the door.

Your challenge for this idea

If a friendship is currently distant, send a simple message expressing availability without demanding an immediate reply.
