Pain can open your eyes

Pain should not be sought for pleasure or romanticized. But when it arrives, it can help us to reconsider, purify our desires, and draw closer to God with more truth. Faith does not call evil good. It teaches that God can bring goods out of what we do not understand, and that offered suffering can become love, reparation, and a way forward. Here too God enters in a very concrete way. He does not look only at what you do on the outside; he also wants to set the heart in order, heal what is wounded, and teach you to respond better, not merely to react.
