Relationships

No one is an island

Total self-sufficiency ends up leaving the heart cold.

It is good to have independence, but it is not good to live as though you needed no one. Isolation promises control and ends up stealing encounter. We were born for relationship: friendship, family, community, service, forgiveness. Even Christian faith is lived as children and siblings, not as detached individuals. Leaving the bubble is hard, but it restores life. Sometimes a simple conversation can break a solitude that was already becoming a habit.

Key idea

A person grows in encounter, not in closed isolation.
