Mass is not a memory
You do not commemorate something that passed: it becomes present.
You can live the Mass as a tribute: remembering what Jesus did two thousand years ago, like commemorating an anniversary. But it is much more. In the Mass, that unique sacrifice of Christ is neither repeated nor imitated: it becomes present here and now.
That changes how you are in it. You do not attend a show about the past; you stand before something that truly happens, with Christ offering himself to the Father and taking you inside. You are not the audience: you are part of it.
You do not need to feel extraordinary things for it to be real. It is enough to arrive knowing what is happening and offer yourself as well. The Mass does not just look back: it touches you today.
