Make room for what matters
Before the good can arrive, you have to remove from the way what gets in the way.
Advent repeats an idea: "make straight the paths," remove the obstacles so that the Lord can arrive. It applies to faith and to life. Often what is important does not enter not because it is lacking, but because we have made no room for it.
A full calendar, a phone always turned on, a thousand pending tasks: they leave little space for what truly counts. Preparing is not adding more things, it is clearing away. Removing noise so that silence, people, and God can fit.
A huge change is not needed. It is enough to open a small space and protect it: a period of time without screens, an unhurried conversation, a few minutes of calm. When you make room, what is good finds where to enter.
Key idea
What is important enters when you make room for it: preparing is clearing, not accumulating.
Your challenge for this idea
Clear a small space today (without a phone, without haste) and keep it for something that matters: someone, silence, God.
