Loving Christ means deciding

There will be days when praying feels appealing and others when it doesn't. If friendship with Christ depended only on feelings, it would be very fragile. Love is also shown in simple fidelity: returning, being there, praying, asking for forgiveness, and continuing to walk even without any special emotion. Prayer grows when it stops depending solely on whether you feel like it. Reserving real time for God allows friendship to mature on ordinary or dry days as well.
