Love demands sacrifice

If everything in a relationship depends on feeling like it, love remains fragile. To love truly implies patience, renunciation, and concrete effort. Sacrifice does not destroy love; it purifies it when born of the other person's good. Charity is often demonstrated in small details that nobody applauds. Making sacrifices does not mean allowing abuse or forgetting your own dignity. It means giving up one's own comfort when that effort truly serves the good of the other person.
