Longing for heaven helps

Heaven is not a fantasy to escape the present. It is the fullness promised by God, and longing for it orders life: it encourages you to struggle, forgive, go to confession, and start over. Whoever forgets the goal wears out more easily along the way. Whoever remembers it does not avoid difficulties, but places them within a greater hope. This is better understood by looking at Christ and the life of the Church. It is not an isolated idea, but part of a path: God draws near, offers his help, and calls you to respond with freedom, humility, and constancy.
