Is the world good?

At times evil, suffering, or disorder can make you look at the world with suspicion. But Christian faith affirms that creation, insofar as it comes from God, is inherently good. This does not mean denying evil. It means recognizing that reality is not born twisted or absurd: it has a good origin and can be looked upon with gratitude. The goodness of what is created does not mean that every use is good. Precisely because things have value, it is wise to learn to enjoy them without turning them into masters of your heart.
