Is original sin unfair?

Original sin explains a very common experience: we desire the good, but feel an inclination toward evil, pain, and inner disorder. We do not begin from a state of perfect neutrality. God does not leave us abandoned in that wound. Through Christ and Baptism the life of grace is recovered, even though the struggle remains. Faith looks at the damage, but also at the medicine. This question needs calm, not a slogan. Many doubts are better understood when you separate things: what faith says, what reason can see, what comes from personal experience, and what perhaps arises from an old wound or prejudice.
