Not all harm can be seen from the outside.
Sometimes we say "I'm not hurting anyone" because we only look at visible consequences. But sin also harms the soul, cools love for God and warps the will.
Besides, some offenses don't need an audience to be real. A lie, an impurity, inner contempt or an omission may not show up in any statistics, but they do change the heart.
