Is creating just making things?

We manufacture, build, or change things from existing materials. God, on the other hand, creates in a unique way: he gives being. That is why creation is not just another work. Everything that exists has been received as a gift and points back to the One who can call into existence from nothing. Creating is not just producing something useful. It also expresses intelligence, freedom, and an ability to collaborate responsibly in caring for the world.
