Indifference also poisons relationships
Not actively causing harm is not enough when someone close has been invisible for a long time.
A relationship can deteriorate without big fights. You stop asking questions, respond out of habit, and take for granted that the other will ask for help if needed. Distance grows in silence.
Indifference does not always stem from a lack of affection. It can come from haste, fatigue, or being absorbed in your own world. But its effect is real: the person feels their joy and pain no longer echo anywhere.
Healing begins with taking initiative. Looking up, remembering an unresolved concern, and giving time without another screen. You do not need a dramatic conversation. Concrete, sustained interest says once again: "your life matters to me." Charity does not only avoid hurting; it goes out to meet the other.
Key idea
