If everything offends you
Touchiness looks like sensitivity, but it's often wounded pride.
One comment made without bad intention and you spend the day going over it. They didn't greet you as you expected, they didn't count you in, someone laughed at something you said. Everything upsets you and you end up feeling attacked almost all the time.
Sometimes there are real wounds behind it, and they need looking after. But often touchiness is a disguised form of pride: being too focused on how I'm treated, on what people think of me, on whether I'm given the place I think I deserve.
Taking yourself less seriously is very freeing. Assuming good intentions in others, laughing at yourself, not keeping count of slights: it isn't letting people walk all over you, it's living more peacefully.
