How to talk about screens with your children
Forbidding is not enough: you have to teach how to use them well.
Screens are part of your children's world. If the conversation only comes up when there is anger or punishment, they might learn to hide their use, but not necessarily to choose well when no one is watching.
Educating requires example, dialogue, and proportionate limits. It matters to explain what is being protected: sleep, study, family conversation, real friendship, purity of heart, and the ability to be bored without needing immediate stimulation.
It is also worth reviewing adult screen use. It is difficult to ask for presence while checking notifications during dinner. The goal is not a house without technology, but a family where tools serve people. Authority gains strength when exercised with consistency, calm, and affection.
Key idea
Educating on screens means forming judgment, not just setting rules.
Your challenge for this idea
Talk with them today about their phone or social media. Without reproaches, calmly and clearly.
