How to stop making excuses for good

Mark as read

Excuses give momentary relief, but they hold you back inside.

There will always be a reason not to do what needs doing: tiredness, lack of time, fear, clutter, or low motivation. Some reasons are real, but not all of them should rule. Responsibility begins when you stop making excuses and take whatever step is possible. You cannot control everything, but you can certainly respond better to what lies before you. Christian discipline is not meant to harden you. It seeks to give you the freedom to fulfill your duty, care for others, and avoid being governed by the whim of the moment.

Key idea

Responsibility restores your power to act.
