How to know if someone is good for you

Not everything that attracts you helps you grow.

Attraction can be intense and yet not be enough. It helps to look at what that relationship produces in your life: whether it brings order or disorder, whether it draws you closer to your best self or pushes you away. Friendship and healthy love are not measured only by strong emotions. They are also recognized by their fruits: peace, truth, respect, and growth. A healthy relationship does not eliminate effort. It teaches you to step outside yourself without losing your dignity, to accompany without controlling, and to speak without humiliating.

Key idea

Someone is good for you if they help you become better.

Your challenge for this idea

Think about a close relationship. Ask yourself if it brings you closer to the person you want to be.
