Heaven changes perspective

Believing in heaven is not despising this life. It is remembering that your small decisions carry eternal weight and that complete happiness cannot fit in passing things. When the goal is great, effort takes on a different tone. Forgiving, beginning again, praying, or taking care of a detail cease to be isolated gestures: they become steps toward our final home. This does not remain a pretty phrase. It shows in very concrete things: how you use time, how you rest, how you speak, and what you do when it is time to begin again. That is where an idea ceases to be theory and begins to touch life.
