He rose with his wounds
Jesus didn't erase his scars: he showed them.
When the risen Jesus appears to the disciples, the first thing he does is show them his hands and his side (Jn 20:20). He even invites Thomas to touch them. His glorified body keeps the marks of the cross.
He could have risen with no trace of what he suffered. He didn't. Those wounds no longer hurt him or shame him: they are the proof of how far his love went. Now they tell a story of victory.
Many of us carry wounds we'd rather hide: a difficult childhood, a breakup, a mistake that's hard to talk about, something that was done to us. God doesn't always erase them. But he can make them stop being a shame and become the place where it shows that someone has healed you. Your scars don't disqualify you.
Key idea
God doesn't always erase your wounds, but he can make them stop being a source of shame.
Your challenge for this idea
Think of a wound of yours that you hide and present it to God in prayer today, just as it is.
