Grieving a loss isn't a lack of faith
Knowing that death isn't the end doesn't take away the pain of saying goodbye.
Sometimes people think a believer shouldn't cry so much at a funeral, that faith should take the grief away. And some feel guilty for being devastated, as if that proved they don't really believe.
It's not like that. Knowing that death doesn't have the last word doesn't stop the separation from hurting. You miss that person, their voice, their habits, the place they had at the table. That's love, not a lack of faith.
If you've lost someone, don't demand that you be okay before it's time. You can cry and believe at the same time. Hope doesn't erase tears: it keeps them company.
