A good schedule also knows how to break for love

Mark as read

The plan serves people; it does not turn people into obstacles of the plan.

A schedule protects duties and prevents mood from deciding every step. Thanks to it you work, rest, and turn to God with greater fidelity. But a good tool can become rigid. There are moments when a person needs your presence, an emergency arises, or the real good asks you to change the planned order. Skipping the plan out of comfort weakens; adjusting it out of charity can fulfill its deepest purpose. The key lies in motive and proportion. Not every interruption deserves entry, nor must every schedule be kept intact. Prudence distinguishes. Afterwards, when the need passes, you return to the usual pattern without drama. Order and availability can support each other.

Key idea

The schedule educates fidelity and must retain the flexibility needed to respond to truly important needs.

Your challenge for this idea

If today you interrupt a plan, name the good that justifies the change and set when you will resume what was left pending.
