Friendship with Christ grows little by little

Do not expect inner life to change all at once. Like every deep relationship, friendship with Christ needs time, patience, and faithfulness in small details. The important thing is not doing it perfectly from the first day. The important thing is returning, caring for the relationship, and not quitting because of a fall or distraction. Following Christ does not mean expecting immediate perfection. It means returning to him, listening to his word, and responding with faithfulness in the next possible step.
