Friendship does not exclude others

A healthy friendship does not become possessive.

When a friendship closes in too tightly, it can end up isolating, controlling, or generating jealousy. That is not depth; that is possessiveness. True friendship expands the heart. It can be special and deep without preventing others from entering, participating, and being welcomed. A deep friendship can be special without closing off. Where there is freedom, there is also room to integrate, share, and rejoice that the other has more good relationships.
