Faith does not become obsolete by looking at the sky
A much larger universe does not make God any smaller.
Some people are unsettled by the thought that life might exist beyond Earth. They wonder if that would change everything, if the Bible would be outdated, or if faith would lose meaning.
But Christian faith does not say that we are the only possible beings in the universe. It says something deeper: all that is created depends on God, and all creation has its origin and end in Him.
If one day there were clear evidence of extraterrestrial life, there would be many new questions. But a new question does not destroy faith; it can compel it to think with greater depth.
Key idea
The grandeur of the universe does not compete with the grandeur of God.
Your challenge for this idea
Look at a news item about space today and turn it into a serene question, not a threat to faith.
