Don't watch your life from the balcony
Commenting on everything without ever coming down to the street is comfortable, but sad.
You can live by watching what happens from above: giving opinions, criticizing, commenting… without ever coming down. Watching opportunities go by, waiting for others to change things, complaining about how bad everything is without lifting a finger.
It's comfortable, but it's sad. Pope Francis called it "balconying" life, and asked young people to do just the opposite: to get into it.
Getting into life means accepting that you're the protagonist of your story: making decisions, committing, lending a hand, risking mistakes. Circumstances have an influence, but they don't decide for you. And you don't do it alone: God and others go with you.
Key idea
Life is lived by getting involved in it, not by watching it go by.
Your challenge for this idea
Today, stop commenting on something you think is wrong and do one concrete thing to improve it.
