Does your mirror rule your day?
If the mirror decides your mood, you are no longer in charge.
There are days when you look at yourself and, depending on what you see, the whole morning goes wrong. The mirror and the scale have become judges that dictate whether you are worthwhile or not. When achieving the perfect body becomes the number-one goal, everything else—the people who love you, your plans, even God—begins to get in the way.
That path isolates. Those who have lived it tell the same story: the obsession gradually leaves you alone, because only one thing fits in your head. And on top of that it is never enough; the goal always moves a bit further and you never arrive.
Your worth does not fit in a reflection. You are someone, not an image; a person created and loved, not a size. Remembering this does not fix the day all at once, but it takes the control away from what should not have it.
Key idea
When your image decides your mood, something small has taken charge of your life.
Your challenge for this idea
Today, when you look in the mirror, do not judge yourself: give yourself a reason why you matter that has nothing to do with your appearance.
