Does science explain everything?

Science helps us understand how the world works. It is valuable and necessary. But it does not answer on its own the ultimate why of existence, goodness, meaning, or love. Faith and reason do not have to compete. Science looks at proximate causes; faith also opens up the ultimate cause and the meaning of everything. Reason and faith do not have to compete. If both seek the truth, they can help each other look at different questions without falling into easy caricatures.
