Does God impose his will?

Sometimes God's will is imagined as an external plan that competes with your desires. But God does not treat people as chess pieces. He created you free and takes your decisions seriously, including the possibility of closing yourself off. His will is not a threat to your happiness. It is an invitation to what is most truly good, even if it sometimes demands stepping out of comfort or giving up an option that seemed attractive. Love does not force: it proposes, waits, and accompanies. Listening to God requires prayer, formation, and sincerity. It is not enough to call any impulse the divine will. You have to look at reality, seek advice when needed, and respond with personal responsibility. Filial trust does not eliminate your decision: it makes it braver.
