Do you know when you were baptized?

Mark as read

You celebrate your birthday every year; the date of your baptism, you may not even know.

Everyone knows when they were born. Far fewer people know when they were baptized. And yet that day something began that is as important as life: you became a child of God and a member of the Church. At the Easter Vigil, the most important night of the year, Christians renew their baptismal promises. It's a way of saying again, as adults, the yes that others said for us when we were little. Remembering the date isn't a pious fad. It's keeping the anniversary of something that changed you forever. On that day you can give thanks, pray for those who brought you to be baptized and renew that yes yourself.

Key idea

Your baptism also deserves an anniversary.

Your challenge for this idea
