Do not treat people as objects
No one is made to be used and thrown away.
Throwaway culture begins in small gestures: ignoring someone no longer of interest, using someone to get something, laughing at the weak, or measuring people by their utility.
Yet a person is not valuable for what they provide you. They are valuable for who they are. They have a dignity that does not disappear when annoying, aging, failing, or no longer fitting into your plans.
Looking like this is uncomfortable, because it forces a change in how you treat others. But it also makes life more human and more Christian.
