Do not live anesthetized
Image and profit can put the conscience to sleep.
Life can fill up with stimuli that numb: showing off, buying, performing, being liked, climbing, winning. None of that is always bad, but it can occupy everything.
When conscience falls asleep, you stop asking if something is just, if a person is suffering, or if your way of living is leaving God out. Waking up is hard because it forces you to look. But an awake life, though more uncomfortable, is much more human.
Key idea
Conscience needs to wake up in order not to live only off image and profit.
Your challenge for this idea
Ask yourself today what habit is putting you to sleep inside and set a concrete limit on it.
