Do not ignore the one who weeps
You cannot follow Jesus and always pass by on the other side.
It is uncomfortable to approach someone else's pain. You do not know what to say, you fear doing it badly, or you prefer not to complicate things. So you look the other way.
Yet indifference also makes a choice. When someone flees misery, war, loneliness, or deep sadness, they need more than opinions from afar.
Following Jesus moves you to stop. You will not always be able to solve it, but you can certainly not abandon the person as if they did not matter.
Key idea
Christian compassion begins by not passing by.
Your challenge for this idea
Reach out today to someone who is sad or burdened, and ask if they need company.
