On the Cross, before all the injustice of the world, sprang forth a love that forgives instead of striking back. That sacrificial love is what neutralizes evil from within. It was not God demanding; it was God offering himself.
That antidote is applied to you today: in forgiveness, in the sacraments, every time you return. You are not condemned to drag the poison along; there is a cure, and it is free.
