Confirmation is not a farewell

Mark as read

For many it is the sacrament of farewell. It should be the one of departure.

It is very common to be confirmed and, soon after, disappear from the life of faith, as if it were a graduation: "that is it, I am done." But Confirmation closes nothing. It is strength from the Spirit to start living faith seriously and as an adult. With it you receive courage not to hide what you believe, even when indifference or mockery surrounds you. It does not make you a showpiece believer: it enables you to stand up with naturalness. If you were confirmed years ago and everything stopped there, it does not matter: that strength remains inside. It is about activating it again, not starting from scratch.

Key idea

Confirmation does not close your faith: it gives you strength to live it as an adult.

Your challenge for this idea

Take a small step today as someone confirmed: do not hide your faith at a moment when you would normally stay silent.
