Complaining out of habit

Mark as read

Repeated complaining fixes nothing and slowly colors everything.

The weather, the traffic, the boss, prices. Some conversations are a chain of complaints, and sometimes we don't even notice that we were the ones who started. Complaining brings relief for a moment and quickly brings people together, but it leaves a bitter taste. When you get used to complaining, you start noticing mainly what goes wrong. The good is still there, but you no longer see it. And those around you end up catching it or getting tired of listening to you. It's not about pretending everything is fine. Some things are worth saying, to the person who can fix them. The rest you can let go, or replace with a sentence that acknowledges something good. It changes the atmosphere more than it seems.

Key idea

Complaining less lets you see the good you already have close by.
