Coming close in secret counts too
Your first steps toward God don't have to be public.
Some people approach God with questions they don't dare ask out loud. They go into a church when nobody's there, look things up online without telling anyone, pray a little before falling asleep without their family knowing.
That's fine. God doesn't demand that the first step be brave or visible. He accepts half-lit encounters, timid questions and short visits. What matters isn't how many people find out, but that you keep going.
Courage usually comes later, almost without you noticing. One day you discover you don't mind so much if people know. Until then, every small step, even a hidden one, counts too.
Key idea
God accepts timid first steps; courage can come later.
Your challenge for this idea
Today, ask a question about the faith that you have been keeping to yourself: to God in prayer or to someone you trust.
