Christmas is prepared with concrete things

Mark as read

Wanting to live Christmas better isn't enough: you have to decide what you're going to change.

Every December we say that this year we'll live Christmas differently, with less rush and more meaning. And then the 24th arrives and everything has been the same: shopping, dinners, exhaustion. Advent is for preparing Christmas with changes you can see. When people asked John the Baptist what they had to do, they didn't get a speech but concrete tasks: share, don't take advantage of anyone, be fair at work. Nothing heroic is needed. You just have to decide what you'll do differently: an overdue visit, something to share, fairer treatment, a moment of prayer. What you decide concretely gets done; what you wish for in general stays a good intention.

Key idea

Preparing for Jesus means changing something concrete where you live.

Your challenge for this idea

Choose today one concrete thing you're going to change this Advent and give it a date.
