Christ also expects from you

Mark as read

Friendship with God also asks for a response.

It is natural to turn to Christ when you need comfort, light, or help. But a mature friendship is not limited to receiving solutions. Little by little you discover that he also expects your free love and your company. Responding to Christ does not require theatrical gestures. It can take the form of faithful prayer, work finished with care, a sacrifice that makes you freer, or an act of service that makes someone's life more pleasant. A very concrete unity of life appears there: dealing with God and attending to your duties cease to be separate worlds. What you do out of love enters your relationship with him. Christ does not compete with your day; he wants to meet you within that real day.

Key idea

Friendship with Christ is a relationship of reciprocated love.

Your challenge for this idea

Do something for him today: a sacrifice, an act of service, or a short prayer.
