Faith

Baptism gives you a family

Your faith does not begin in isolation.

Baptism is not merely a childhood memory or a pretty ceremony. It introduces you into a new life: a child of God, united to Christ, and a member of a family larger than your tastes or borders. Remembering it changes how you live. You do not walk alone, nor do you belong solely to your results, wounds, or moods. There is a deeper identity sustaining you. Being baptized is also a call. If you are a child, learn to live as a child; if you have brothers and sisters, learn to treat them as such.

Key idea

Baptism recalls that you are a child of God and a member of his family.

Your challenge for this idea

Give thanks for your Baptism today and treat one person as a brother, not as a nuisance.
